Our History

The “Hathwa Raj” is the oldest of the aristocratic houses in Bihar and traces its ancestry to a remote antiquity having settled in Saran District of Bihar for about 106th generation. “Hathwa Raj” had more than 2,700 villages with a population of 6670 according to the census of 1901. The Title of “SAHI”, a word of pure Persian origin meaning ‘Imperial’ was bestowed by the Emperor of Delhi, in the golden days of Akbar on ‘Maharaja Khemkaran Mull’ which is patronymic now. The early twentieth century describes “Hathwa” in its pronominal peak, and booming business in the field of Hospitality, Education, Market Complex and Properties firm. This business marvel is now under the professional guidance of ‘His Highness Maharaja Bahadur M.P Sahi’ , HH Maharani Saheb (his wife) and Maharaj Kumar and The Princess (children).

Arrival and Departure Policy

Check in - 1200 Hours ,Check out - 1200 Hours
Early arrival is subject to availability. For guaranteed early check-in, inform front office at the time of booking
Later check-outs are available on request and subject to availability.
An early Check-In & Late Check Out will be subject to availability and charged accordingly.

Notifications

Taxes are subject to change as per government regulations without prior intimation. Government notification requires guests to present proof of identity at the time of check in. Guests are requested to carry with them the required document during their travel.

Our Other policies

Rooms will be held on confirmed basis subject to guarantee by the company / Travel Agent / Self-Booking by Advance Payment.
The hotel requires at least 15 days for FIT and 21 days for GIT (GIT is considered for reservation of 10 rooms and above). There should be prior notice to cancel your reservation, any cancellation received after this will be subject to charge of room(s) booked for 1 night.
Any cancellation within 2 days of arrival will be subject to retention on the entire stay. No shows will be charged for the entire reservation.
Non-guaranteed reservation will be released 7 days prior to arrival date.
2 Children up to the age of 5 years can stay in the room of their parents at no additional cost. For kids above that age would be charged for extra person. Maximum of 2 kids can stay in the same room of their parents.

The Raj Palace, built in the 18th century, was a residence of the Rulers of Hathwa from Bihar. The existing palace was constructed during middle of the 19th Century to house the Royal Family Members with their caravan and courtiers during their ‘Kashi Bas’. The Palace now turned hotel has witnessed its golden era during the imperative days of Late Maharaja Bahadur, Sir Krishna Pratap Sahi (KCIE).
